Nidoeschka "Nikki"

Nikki's sweet and friendly personality quickly made her a favourite in our barn. She has a sterling pedigree from top to bottom. Imported from Holland, Nikki had a very successful career in the Hunter ring with a young rider before retiring as a broodmare. Nikki has, thus far, produced 4 foals.  Two were awarded Premium Foal designation. Her daughter, Walencia, has placed 1st or 2nd in every jumping class she has been entered and is shown up and down the West Coast. Her other daughter, Wailea, was started under saddle and did well at a few shows, and is now retired to our broodmare band.  Her colt is just rising 3 and will be started under saddle this year. In June 2011, Nikki had a gorgeous, long-legged black Freestyle colt who was, heart-breakingly, euthanized due to illness.  All of Nikki's foals are an improvement over herself, which proves her exceptional genetic heritability from both her sireline and mareline.

Her sire, Belisar, was one of Holland's top dressage mare producers and in recent years was one of the most highly ranked stallions in Holland, achieving a dressage breeding index of 150. Belisar, now deceased, still has a rated KWPN reliability index of 93% as of 2009/2010. He has produced 88 Ster mares, 12 Preferent mares and 6 Prestatie mares. The Saros lineage has produced the stallions Toronto, Ucello, and Valentino. Belisar has personally produced 5 approved stallion sons, including Houston and Kroonjuweel. Houston was Champion Stallion in his grading year, had a dressage index sire rating of 158, and has produced 3 stallion sons who were Champions in their respective grading years, one of whom became the top priced horse of the Select Sale. Belisar's son, Kroonjuweel, was a top performance stallion, who also achieved a breeding index of 150. Belisar was interesting because when he was paired with a jumper mare, he produced horses with very good jumping ability, and we have found this to be the case with Nikki, herself.

Mention must be made of her exceptional damline. Through her damline, Nikki carries the very important blood of Ramiro Z, Cottage Son xx, and Furioso xx. Her mother successfully competed in show jumping at the S level in Holland and produced offspring who competed at the highest level of competition, thus Idoeschka was awarded her Preferent Prestatie Ster award. Nikki's granddam, Dauphine, competed successfully in Dressage, despite being a direct descendant from from 2 extremely remarkable show jumping stallions, Uppercut and Le Mexico. Le Mexico was awarded the very rare Keurhengst predicate just months before he died and, 8 years after his death, Le Mexico was still ranked 21st out of 200 stallions for dressage and his jumping index reliability was still ranked at 96%. Le Mexico was a slow starter, but as he aged, his true greatness in the breeding arena shone very brightly, evidenced by his progeny's rather spectacular results in the international Grand Prix show jumping arena. The great Thoroughbred stallion, Uppercut xx, was also awarded the very rare Crown Predicate by the KWPN. Not only was he an international show jumping champion himself, but he produced many exceptional international show jumping champions, stallion sons and highly awarded daughters.

Nikki's interesting pedigree and abilities offer us a lot of breeding choices as she will produce dressage when paired to a dressage stallion, jumper when bred to a jumping stallion.

 

Breeding:

Nikki is also available for a custom foal through embryo transfer (must be booked by May 15). Maximum of 2 bookings will be made available. ** Only 1 booking still available!

Nikk is a proven, premium foal producer, and her foals inherit her sweet temperament, intelligence, rideability, athleticism and her winning ways in the show ring.  She is proven very easy to get in foal, usually on first try. Nikki also quite often twins, which is excellent news for ET clients as it doubles the chances for a foal.

Nikki is scheduled to be bred to Banderas for a 2013 foal.  Banderas is an exceptional young jumping stallion, imported from Germany, sired by the spectacular Balou du Rouet.  We are really looking forward to this, as this breeding will be a very good marriage of the jumping lines and abilities.
