Nicole is a stunning 17.2 hand buckskin Swedish Warmblood mare fully approved in Sweden with good scores before being imported to the United States where she embarked on a show jumping career.  Because of her scores in Sweden, Nicole was automatically approved with SWANA (Swedish Warmblood Association of North America).  Once Nicole was retired from show ring, she was bred to Vivaldi and produced a lovely filly.  Following this, she was imported to Canada, where she was presented for inspection to the RPSI Stud Book, and was approved and placed in the Main Mare Book. Following this, she was bred to Freestyle and produced a stunning bay colt.

Nicole's sire, Bernstein, and his sons, Bayron, Bolero, and Ravel, as well as Bernstein's great-grandsire are all found in the top 11 of the BLUP index. Bernstein is an Elite Stallion sired by the Elite Stallion, Napoleon. Bernstein was ranked #2 Swedish Warmblood Stallion in 2003, just behind Amiral, his half-brother, who stood at Flyinge. In the 2003 BLUP, Bernstein 2nd for gaits, 4th for conformation and 7th overall with a score of 93%. He was the winner of his stallion test in Sweden, receiving 9s for his trot and canter. In that same year, Bernstein ranked #28 on the USEF Leading Dressage Sires. His offspring are competing at the international Grand Prix levels and have been recipients of Best in Show and Breeder's Trophy awards. Bernstein himself, was the recipient of the 2001 Dressage Sire Breeder's Trophy.

Napoleon is ranked in the top 5 of dressage sires in the world and has sired over 900 offspring. His approved son, Amiral competed in the 1996 Olympic Games and was awarded 10s for his gaits at his stallion test. Other sons include Nactus (Stallion test champion), Bombay (Swedish National Grand Prix Champion and World Cup competitor), Gazpon (Stallion test champion and FEI competitor), and Zephyr (stallion test champion). While Napoleon is considered to be a prominent sire's sire, he has also produced many talented and top-ranking mares in both jumping and dressage.

Nicole descends from a very exceptional damline. Her dam, Norea, was an elegant, beautiful mare awarded Diploma and Elite mare status. She also produced an approved stallion son, Amorex, who is standing in the USA. Nicole's granddam, Nirosa, was also awarded Diploma and Elite mare status. Her great-granddam, Nicette, was a Diploma mare, and was Champion Mare at the Elmia National Show in Sweden. Damsire, Maraton, sired 80 Diploma daughters and over 8 recognized stallion sons, such as Magini 695. Magini's most famous and notable son is Briar 899 who was extremely successful under Jan Brink of Sweden with multiple Olympic Games, World Cups, and many International Grand Prix wins to his credit as well as being a significant sire of stallion sons, elite mares and FEI champions. Briar was recognized as the world's #1 ranked dressage sire for 8 years in a row - an accomoplishment not yet repeated by any living stallion in the world today. Magini also sired the most notable up and coming Swedish stallion, Okeanos. Okeanos is currently competitive at the FEI level. Maraton was out of the Elite mare Fairy 9176, and was sired by Utrillo 432 who heavily influenced sport horse breeding in his era.

Dozing in October sunshine.

Nicole is very straight forward to handle with an affectionate and gentle nature.  Her foals inherit her easy temperament, exceptional athleticism as is typical of her exceptional damline, and rideability.  She has had 2 foals - a lovely filly sired by Vivaldi in 2004 and a stunning colt sired by Freestyle in 2006, who was sold to the United States is now under saddle and performing beautifully in the show ring.  His owner remarks on his sweet temperament and rideability.  Nicole is a proven champion-maker descending from solid championship lines in her pedigree both top and bottom.

Breeding:

Nicole is available for a custom foal (booked by May 15).  Nicole is a very fertile mare, easily getting pregnant with 1st of 2nd cycle, quite often producing two viable embryos which is excellent news for embryo transfer clients.  For those who are interested in colour, Nicole is a buckskin and tested EeAA; therefore, it is possible for her to produce bay, black, chestnut, buckskin, palomino, perlino and cremello foals, depending on the stallion.  The Color Calculator can predict the possible colour choices.   Maximum of 2 bookings will be made available.  ** Only 1 booking still available!

Nicole is booked to be bred to the very handsome Oldenburg stallion, Sagnol (owned by Dreamscape Farm), for a 2013 foal.  Sagnol was imported to Canada and has proven himself to be a very heritable sire for type, dressage abilities, superior temperament and extremely good gaits.  As such, Sagnol is approved with a significant number of breed associations in Germany and North America.
